We Love Our Teachers Wednesday: Spotlight on Ms. Sidberry & Ms. Cutts, Pre-K Team

We Love Our Teachers Wednesday

Spotlight on Pre-K Teachers Ms. Sidberry and Ms. Cutts

“To the world you may just be a teacher, but to your students you are a HERO!”

For this week’s teacher spotlight, Mariam Boyd recognizes our Pre-K team of Ms. Tomeka Sidberry and Ms. Janie Cutts. This dynamic duo works to put their little Eagles first and are always working on new and innovative ways to create positive learning experiences. We sat down with the pair to see what they have been up to during the school closure and check in with their Pre-K progress.

1) What have you been working on to ensure students are still learning during our school closure?

In pre-k we have been having lots of fun. Learning all about Gardens via remote learning. We are continuing with our letter of the week and creative hands-on activities.

We upload activities to classdojo daily as well as daily read-alouds from the classroom teachers. We have zoom meetings with our students regularly, we also use FaceTime and Google meet to connect with our students. Mrs. Cutts has created a Youtube channel for our students and parents.

2) What do you miss most about being in school?

We miss our little friends, we miss their laughs and smiles, giving hugs and having fun while learning. We truly miss our school family.

3) What advice would you give your students during this unprecedented time?

We would tell our little friends to continue to read and have fun while learning. We would encourage them to go outside and get some fresh air.  Please don't worry, everything is going to be alright.

Mariam Boyd sends a HUGE thank you to both Ms. Sidberry and Ms. Cutts. Our school would not be the same without you, and we greatly appreciate your efforts to make your students the top priority. We are all lucky to have you! Stay tuned for more student and teacher spotlights that showcase all the awesome things happening at Mariam Boyd!
