Naturally, families want to do everything they can to prepare their girl to start Kindergarten with confidence. That’s where Girl Scouts comes in—our kindergarten readiness course is FREE and open to all girls. This course includes 4 webinars that are filled with fun and educational activities. Entitled “Make New Friends”, our Kindergarten Readiness Webinars provide opportunities to girls that will strengthen four competencies as they enter Kindergarten. This series allows her to connect with the same friends each week, as well as Girl Scout staff who will lead her through sessions around language and literacy, cognition, approaches to learning, as well as social and emotional learning. In this webinar, girls will launch into literacy, learning how to identify major story characters and basic storylines. Girls will also shoot for the stars as they transform into little scientists learning to observe and make discoveries in their worlds all while practicing their observations skills. Food Lion will partner for the second time with Warren County Schools for a gift card giveaway. On April 30, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., $20 Food Lion gift cards will be given out at Warren County High School. The gift cards will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis when parents pick up student meals. There will be a limit of one gift card per vehicle. Good Evening, Parents! This week on Tuesday, December 17th, FREE bike helmets will be available for Kindergarten and 1st Grade Mariam Boyd students. Helmets will be available in the cafeteria from 2 to 3 PM and MUST be picked up by a parent.
Title 1 Accountability Night at Mariam Boyd will be held on Thursday, August 22 at 6 PM. During this important event teachers, parents, and students will discuss expectations and responsibilities for the 2019-2020 school year. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
