Northside families,

We want to make you aware of an incident that occurred at school today. First, please know that all students are safe.

Today, one of our students brought a knife to school and showed it to other students within their classroom. The teacher immediately notified me and I was able to remove the student from the classroom and secure the knife without incident. I then notified our School Resource Officer with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, who came to provide assistance.

There was no indication the student intended to harm anyone, nor did the student threaten other students with it.

Administrators and school counselors talked with students today who saw the knife and reiterated that they are safe. Counselors will continue to be available to talk with any student who has concerns or would like to talk with someone about this incident.

Please take this opportunity to remind your child that bringing anything on campus or on a school bus that could be considered a weapon - even a toy weapon or a costume prop - is a very serious offense. Students will face disciplinary action at school and could even be charged criminally.

Know that we will continue to take every measure to ensure the safety of our students. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the school.

Thank you for your continued support of our school.
