Warren County Schools families,

Because we want to keep you informed, we would like you to be aware of a situation that is affecting our schools today.

A vague threat was made on social media and circulated within our community. This is a national viral threat that has been widely circulated in various forms across the country. Despite that, we immediately contacted local law enforcement. The investigation determined the social media post is a hoax, likely posted with the intent to disrupt schools today. The hoax threat is not related to our schools or our community.

There is no direct threat to our schools. There was never any danger posed to our community. Our students and staff were safe at all times, so we continued with our regular schedule and had a productive day of teaching and learning.

We want to assure you that we take all threats seriously. As with all threats, we will ask law enforcement and the courts to prosecute those responsible for committing this crime.

School safety is our top priority, and we must all work together to keep our schools safe.

Please be vigilant and monitor the activities and actions of your children. Have discussions within your family stressing to them that communicating a threat to a school could negatively impact them for the rest of their life.

Please remind your children that they should not start or share rumors that spread fear, including on social media, text messaging, word of mouth, or any other way. Instead, if you or your child has information about something that causes you concern, notify an administrator or other school employee directly so we can respond quickly and appropriately to protect everyone’s safety.

Know that we will continue to take every measure to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. As always, thank you for your continued support of Warren County Schools.
