Minimum Grading Requirements - Middle School (Grades 6-8)

There are guidelines for the minimum number and types of grades a teacher must use to calculate a student's academic performance in a class. This ensures that students have an opportunity to truly show their knowledge of the subject and their ability to recall and apply that knowledge. Teachers may use more grades to calculate a student's score than the minimum required, but may not have fewer. Teachers will carefully plan to ensure that graded tests, quizzes, classwork, and homework assignments align with the required curriculum and have the necessary rigor to reflect student success in all areas.
