This is a free event including door prizes and Native American dancing, singing, and drumming. Items available for sale include Native American fry bread, hotdogs, chips, and drinks.

The Back to School Powwow is sponsored by the Haliwa-Saponi Tribal School, Halifax County Public Schools, and Warren County Public Schools Title VI Indian Education Programs.

Warren County High School sincerely apologizes for our culturally insensitive Spirit Week schedule. Our intention was to provide an opportunity for members of the Native American community to proudly celebrate and showcase their culture. We fully recognize that the way we went about it had the opposite effect. This painful misstep is prompting us to have crucial conversations about appropriate ways to celebrate our many diverse cultures. Thank you for allowing us to use this experience as an opportunity to learn, listen, and grow. We are currently working on a revised Spirit Week schedule. In the meantime, tomorrow will remain Character Day. Students and staff are invited to dress up as a character from your favorite book, tv show, movie, or real life.

Reminder: Wednesday, Sept. 13 is an early release day for all Warren County Schools. All schools will dismiss students at 1:00 p.m.. Students will have the opportunity to eat lunch at school before dismissal. Thank you for your cooperation and support of Warren County Schools.

We sent a letter home today with all students outlining our schedule and expectations for end-of-year testing June 5th-9th. We also posted the info on our school website in the News section. This explains when your student must come to school for state-required testing. Thank you

Immediate Dismissal - Warren County High School and Warren County Middle School are dismissing immediately due to a power outage in the area. Buses are taking students home. If your child does not ride a bus, please come get them as soon as possible. Staff will stay with car riders until they have been picked up. We apologize for this inconvenience.
