Unity Day Message from Dr. Carol Montgue-Davis Superintendent Warren County Schools NC

Dear Warren County School Family,

Today, our district joins schools nationwide in observing Unity Day. You will see a sea of orange in our hallways and classrooms, a powerful visual reminder that our school community stands united.

While wearing orange shows our shared spirit today, Unity Day is a commitment to how we treat one another every single day of the year.

Wearing orange is a statement, but our daily actions are what create real change. Unity is found in:

  • Inclusion: Ensuring no student stands or sits alone, and making space for every voice.

  • Respect: Celebrating our unique backgrounds, perspectives, and strengths.

  • Courage: Choosing kindness, standing against bullying, and speaking up when someone needs support.

To our students: The small choices you make each day, like a warm smile, an encouraging word, or reaching out to someone new, build the culture of your school. You have the power to help everyone around you feel safe, valued, and accepted.

To our staff and families: Thank you for modeling empathy, kindness, and community for our young people every day.

Let’s carry today's spirit far beyond our clothing and into every interaction. Together, we can ensure that our schools remain places where every student feels seen, heard, and welcomed.

And always remember ALL IN…WE WIN!

With Kindness,

Dr. Carol Montague-Davis

Superintendent, Warren County Schools
