We Love Our Teachers Wednesday

Spotlight on 3rd Grade Teacher, Mrs.Stephanie Seward

“A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, and touches a heart.”

For this week’s Teacher Spotlight, Mariam Boyd recognizes 3rd grader teacher, Mrs. Stephanie Seward. As an irreplaceable team member in our Mariam Boyd family, Mrs. Seward has taught our Eagles for 17 years! Her positivity and love for her students is evident, and we checked in with our veteran teacher to see how her classroom has continued to function during our school closure.

1) What have you been working on to ensure students are still learning during our school closure?

I do Google Meets with my students where  I teach lessons.  I also post assignments through Google Classroom for students to complete if they desire to work on other activities besides the packets.  Finally,  I reach out to students and parents via Class Dojo, text, or phone call to answer any questions students or parents may have.

2) What do you miss most about being in school?

I miss seeing my students and interacting with them face to face.

3) What advice would you give your students during this unprecedented time?

My advice to my students is to be strong, be calm, be positive.  Be strong  during this time.  It is a challenge for everyone.  We will get through this.  Be calm in all the chaos.  Find something you like to do.  Do worry yourself with adult problems.  Be Positive.  NO matter what, have a positive attitude.  Your attitude determines your direction.

Mariam Boyd is forever indebted to you, Mrs. Seward! We are so thankful for the dedication and passion that you bring to your classroom year after year! Stay tuned for more teacher and student spotlights, highlighting all the awesome things happening at Mariam Boyd!
