DROPPING OFF OR PICKING UP A STUDENT DURING SCHOOL HOURS? AN ADULT MUST COME INTO THE SCHOOL TO SIGN THE STUDENT IN OR OUT. The adult should provide a written note explaining why the student must miss school. Early check-outs must be done before 2:30 p.m. or wait until regular school dismissal.

This is an important message for all Warren County Schools families regarding our district procedures for student drop-off and pick up. You must follow these procedures if your child arrives late for school or needs to leave early.

If your student arrives at school after the start of the school day, a parent or guardian must walk them into the front office and sign the child into school. The adult must provide and sign a written note explaining why the student is late. The school will use the note to determine if the tardiness is excused or unexcused according to School Board Policy 4400: Attendance.

If your student must leave before the end of the school day, a parent or guardian must come into the front office and check them out of school. Again, School Board Policy 4400: Attendance requires the adult to provide a written and signed note explaining why the student must leave early.

If your student is leaving early, they must be checked out and picked up before 2:30 p.m. We will not allow any student check-outs or transportation changes after 2:30 p.m. Our staff need this time at the end of the day to prepare for a safe and orderly school dismissal. Again - if you need to check out your student early from school, you must do it before 2:30 p.m.

We also want to remind you how important it is for your student to be on time for school and stay until school has ended. When students arrive late or leave early, they miss valuable class time, which could affect their academic performance. Please make every effort to schedule necessary appointments after school or on days students are not in school.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. And as always, thank you for your support of Warren County Schools!
