Warren County Middle School families,

We want to inform you about an incident that occurred today at our school.

This afternoon, several students were involved in a fight inside a girls bathroom. Two staff members responded quickly to break up the altercation. There were no serious injuries reported from the incident and afterwards, we resumed our normal schedule for teaching and learning.

Due to federal privacy laws, we cannot provide any additional information about this specific incident or the people involved. But I do want you to know that school and district administrators are investigating the altercation to identify violations of school board policy and appropriate disciplinary action for everyone involved. In addition, law enforcement is investigating to determine possible criminal behavior and legal charges.

I want to assure that we will continue to take every measure to ensure the safety of our students and staff every day. Please know safety is always our top priority and we are committed to providing an environment focused on teaching, learning, and supporting our students. Please talk with your student about their role in helping maintain a positive school environment based on trust, respect, and integrity.

Warren County Middle School families, This is principal Dr. Carrington. Because we want to keep you informed, I would like to make you aware of a situation that affected our school today. This morning, it was reported that a student brought some Delta-8-THC gummies to school and gave them to some classmates. We immediately notified law enforcement and the parents of all of the students involved. We’re working with law enforcement to investigate the incident. While Delta-8 is a legal substance in our state, it is not permitted on school property and is a violation of our Student Code of Conduct. Families are encouraged to review with their students Board Policy 4325 which explicitly prohibits students from possessing various substances on school grounds. If they see or know of any substances on campus, please have them report it to a staff member so we can quickly investigate and take appropriate action. Know that we will continue to take every measure to ensure the safety of our students and staff. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. As always, thank you for your continued support of Warren County Middle School.
