Good Evening Vaughan Families,
I hope that you all had a fun and safe extended weekend! Our instructional school day is 8:00 am to 3:15 pm. Students may enter the building at 7:40 am. The tardy bell will ring at 8:00 am, if your child is not here when the tardy bell rings you will need to park and walk your child to the door to sign them in. Please do not send students to the door alone. An adult must accompany students to the door and sign them in after 8:00 am. This week begins our beginning of the year assessments for all students in grades K-5th. The mClass window opens tomorrow. This state reading diagnostic assessment will be administered to all K-3 students. All students in grades K-5 will take the iReady reading assessment on Thursday, September 8th, and Friday, September 9th. Please encourage your child to take their time and do his or her best. Warren County Schools provides all students with free breakfast and lunch. Car riders will be dismissed at 3:10 pm and bus riders will be dismissed at 3:15 pm. Our carpool procedures are the following: During your morning arrival, we will be unloading cars in increments of 1-5. I will be directing traffic, so you will know when it’s okay to pull up. The staff members at the cones will open your door and let your child out. We are asking that you do not let your child out of the vehicle unless you are at one of the numbered cones and a staff member is there to help unload them. We are also requesting that you do not pull out of the lineup and drive around the cars that are in front of you. That creates a safety issue for the staff that is unloading the cars in front of you. During our afternoon dismissal, all parents will be required to drive through the carpool line. There will not be any walk-ups to get your child. This means that you must remain in your vehicle. When you enter the carpool line you will be told which cone to stop at, your child will be brought to that cone, and a staff member will load them into your vehicle. Again we are asking that you don’t get out of the lineup and drive around the cars in front of you. This process will help improve our student safety during arrival and dismissal. I am asking for your cooperation and patience as we all work together to keep our students safe. Let's have a great week

We hope you enjoy your first full day of summer! Teachers and staff, it's almost your turn for a day off! 😇
Good Evening Parents,
This is Principal Mrs. McMannen with your weekly updates. I hope everyone is enjoying their extended weekend! School is closed tomorrow in observance of Memorial Day. I would like to personally thank you all for making sure that your child was present at school for their end-of-grade assessments. We had 98% participation from our 3rd, 4th and 5th-grade students. Summer remediation will be offered to students who are not proficient on their end-of-grade assessments and it is highly encouraged. There are only 6 instructional days left in this school year and this will be a very busy week at Vaughan Elementary. Specific information has been sent home about upcoming events. If you have any additional questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher. Cell phones are not allowed at school or on school buses. This is a district-wide policy. If students are caught with a cell phone, it will be taken and a parent will have to come to the school to get it. The tardy bell rings at 8:15 am. If your child is not here by 8:15 you will need to park and come sign your child in. Please don’t send your child to the door unattended because they need to be signed in by an adult. Thanks for your continued support of Vaughan Elementary School. Let’s have a great week!
