Good Evening Vaughan Families, I hope that you all had a fun and safe extended weekend! Our instructional school day is 8:00 am to 3:15 pm. Students may enter the building at 7:40 am. The tardy bell will ring at 8:00 am, if your child is not here when the tardy bell rings you will need to park and walk your child to the door to sign them in. Please do not send students to the door alone. An adult must accompany students to the door and sign them in after 8:00 am. This week begins our beginning of the year assessments for all students in grades K-5th. The mClass window opens tomorrow. This state reading diagnostic assessment will be administered to all K-3 students. All students in grades K-5 will take the iReady reading assessment on Thursday, September 8th, and Friday, September 9th. Please encourage your child to take their time and do his or her best. Warren County Schools provides all students with free breakfast and lunch. Car riders will be dismissed at 3:10 pm and bus riders will be dismissed at 3:15 pm. Our carpool procedures are the following: During your morning arrival, we will be unloading cars in increments of 1-5. I will be directing traffic, so you will know when it’s okay to pull up. The staff members at the cones will open your door and let your child out. We are asking that you do not let your child out of the vehicle unless you are at one of the numbered cones and a staff member is there to help unload them. We are also requesting that you do not pull out of the lineup and drive around the cars that are in front of you. That creates a safety issue for the staff that is unloading the cars in front of you. During our afternoon dismissal, all parents will be required to drive through the carpool line. There will not be any walk-ups to get your child. This means that you must remain in your vehicle. When you enter the carpool line you will be told which cone to stop at, your child will be brought to that cone, and a staff member will load them into your vehicle. Again we are asking that you don’t get out of the lineup and drive around the cars in front of you. This process will help improve our student safety during arrival and dismissal. I am asking for your cooperation and patience as we all work together to keep our students safe. Let's have a great week

Today is School Nurse Day! It’d take much more than a single day to adequately celebrate our School Nurses! These professionals have been non-stop throughout the Pandemic... caring for students and staff, contact tracing COVID cases, connecting families to school and community resources, helping manage chronic conditions, training staff, administering medications, creating health guidelines for the district, coordinating with local, state and federal health officials, and the list goes on and on. Thank your school nurse for helping keep our schools open, helping keep our students and staff healthy, and their commitment to staying and working in Warren County to serve our families. #SND2022 #EverydayHeroes #WarrenProud #ThankANurse #SchoolNursesTeachUsAll
