What started as a simple classroom project has grown into something much more meaningful. In our Adobe Video Design class, students were originally tasked with creating video content as part of their learning. But as we moved through the project, it quickly became clear that this wasn’t just another assignment. Students showed up with ideas, energy, and personality. They weren’t just completing a task, they were creating something they genuinely cared about.
Seeing their passion and creativity unfold, I realized their voices deserved more than just a grade—they deserved an audience and a bigger stage. That’s when the idea of creating a student-led podcast channel, The Corner Talk, came to life. When I shared the idea with the class, the excitement was instant. Students embraced the opportunity not only to create content but also to express themselves, share opinions, and connect with a wider audience.
The name The Corner Talk isn’t just catchy, it’s real. The podcast is literally recorded in a corner of our classroom. It’s the same spot where students naturally gather, relax, and talk once they’ve finished their work. What used to be just a hangout space has now become our official podcast corner. A place where everyday conversations turn into meaningful stories and discussions.
The Corner Talk is more than just a podcast. It’s a space where students can be heard. They explore topics that matter to them, build confidence, and develop real-world skills in communication, teamwork, and digital media production. From brainstorming ideas to filming, editing, and publishing, they take full ownership of the process, and that’s where the real learning happens.
Through this initiative, we aim to highlight student voice, foster confidence, and showcase the incredible talent within our school community. What began as a classroom activity has now evolved into a dynamic space where learning meets creativity, and where every student has a voice worth hearing.
Tune in and be part of the conversation.
