Hi, Parents! We are so excited to get our 2020-2021 school year underway. Here's a few important updates and reminders that will help us to begin the year on the right foot! -Chromebooks have been shipped and will arrive in the county for our student's usage in the next few weeks! -Until then, students will work out of pre-made packets. These packets have been mailed directly to you! Please expect them early next week! -Your student's teacher will be reaching out to you over the next few days for an initial greeting and the sharing of more important information regarding your student's school year and class expectations! Please make sure you are connected to Class Dojo for ease of communication. -Communication between school & home is KEY! Please make sure to collaborate with your student's teacher each week- this is a Mandatory part of distance learning. -Our Virtual Open House will be this coming Monday, August 17th at 6 PM. A virtual attendance link will be sent out shortly. Please plan to attend so that you have all the information needed to succeed this school year! During these unprecedented times, we appreciate your partnership now more than ever. We’ll cover a lot of territory and how to navigate road blocks and detours that may occur along the way. We will also discuss changes in traffic patterns such as virtual meetings and remote learning. See below for some important reminders regarding the upcoming 2020-2021 school year! -In order to participate in distance learning, all students will be required a one time $20.00 Chromebook technology fee. This must be paid in full upon pick up. -More information regarding pick up dates will be sent out soon - You can go online and complete all school forms prior to pick up day -If you are enrolling your child in Warren County Schools for the first time, enrollment for Mariam Boyd will take place at the Central Office on August 5th, from 3:30 to 5:00. Girl Scout Webinar Opportunity for Kindergarten! See info below: Girls all around the world are about to take a BIG step! Naturally, families want to do everything they can to prepare their girl to start Kindergarten with confidence. That’s where Girl Scouts comes in—our kindergarten readiness course is FREE and open to all girls. This course includes 4 webinars that are filled with fun and educational activities. Entitled “Make New Friends”, our Kindergarten Readiness Webinars provide opportunities to girls that will strengthen four competencies as they enter Kindergarten. This series allows her to connect with the same friends each week, as well as Girl Scout staff who will lead her through sessions around language and literacy, cognition, approaches to learning, as well as social and emotional learning. In this webinar, girls will launch into literacy, learning how to identify major story characters and basic storylines. Girls will also shoot for the stars as they transform into little scientists learning to observe and make discoveries in their worlds all while practicing their observations skills. In the final meeting, girls will begin to see themselves as unique individuals that have their own abilities, emotions, and interests! We can’t wait to get your girls started on this adventure!

Parents that are interested in their student(s) participating in an all online learning environment next year will need to complete an application to participate in our Virtual Academy. We are also asking parents that do not plan to allow their students to ride the school bus next year to complete an opt-out form so that we can plan on the number of students that will be riding buses.
