Today, our Senior Project scholars had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Latori Gregory, representative from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG)!
Ms. Gregory shared valuable information about admission requirements, athletics, student life, study abroad opportunities, and the overall college experience. Our seniors also had the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about what UNCG has to offer. 🌟
As our Class of 2027 prepares for their next chapter, opportunities like these help our scholars explore their options and make informed decisions about their futures.
A special thank you to Ms. Gregory and UNCG for spending time with our scholars and bringing the college conversation directly to WECHS!
The road to what’s next starts now! 🎓

Congratulations to our very own Mrs. Lisa Bender on receiving the Youth Award from the Warren County NAACP! 🎉
This recognition is a beautiful reflection of her dedication, leadership, and continued commitment to supporting, mentoring, and creating opportunities for the young people of Warren County.
Congratulations, Mrs. Bender! Thank you for investing in our scholars and for all that you do to help our young people learn, lead, and thrive.
Well deserved! 🌟

WECHS and WCHS Scholars Leading in Our Community!
Our scholars had the honor of participating in the Warren County NAACP Annual Freedom Fund Banquet on Saturday, centered around the theme, “United We Stand, Divided We Fall.”
We are especially proud of sophomore scholars Christian Kearney and Amaris Yancey, members of the Warren County NAACP Youth Council, who served as presiders for the evening! 👏🏾
🎶 Entertainment for the evening was provided by WECHS sophomore scholars La'Zariya Cooper-Marrow, Alyssa Jones, and Donyel Reid. We are so proud of them for sharing their talents and helping make the evening even more special!
What an incredible opportunity for these young leaders to stand alongside giants in our community, including Mrs. Eva Clayton, Congressman Don Davis, and Mrs. Dollie Burwell—leaders whose service, courage, and commitment have helped shape our community and beyond.
These are the experiences that extend learning beyond the classroom and allow our scholars to witness leadership, service, and history firsthand.
An evening of legacy. An evening of leadership. An experience they will never forget. 💙💚
A very special thank you to Mrs. Lisa Bender and Mr. Juan Moguel for their continued support, leadership, and commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for our scholars.
We are proud of these scholars for representing Warren County’s young people so well!

Today marked Day 2 of our first round of Senior Meetings, and the Class of 2027 is getting ready for everything that comes with this exciting final year at WECHS!
Our seniors learned about the college application launch, Residency Determination Service (RDS), FAFSA and financial planning, service learning, internships, testing, college fairs and visits, graduation requirements, and senior responsibilities.
There’s a lot to accomplish between now and graduation, but we’re making sure our seniors have the information, resources, and support they need every step of the way.
The countdown to college, careers, and commencement has officially begun! 🎓✨
🎓 Class of 2027, LET’S GO! 💙

New this year at WECHS—Freshman Seminar! 🌟
Transitioning to high school—and the early college experience—is a BIG step. That’s why we’ve intentionally built time into our scholars’ schedules to help our newest members of the WECHS family start strong and build habits that will help them succeed.
During Freshman Seminar, scholars receive support with:
📚 Academic Success – completing assignments, getting extra help, and staying on track
⏰ Study & Life Skills – time management, organization, note-taking, and test preparation
🎓 College & Career Readiness – exploring strengths, career interests, and planning for the future
💚 Social-Emotional Growth – building confidence, communication skills, healthy relationships, and self-awareness
At WECHS, we know success doesn’t happen by accident. We’re not just raising expectations—we’re providing the support and tools our scholars need to meet them.

This honor is so well deserved. Your heart for students, staff, and our entire school family shows in everything you do. You are dedicated, caring, and have a genuine desire to see everyone around you succeed.
You lead with compassion, support us through the challenges, celebrate our successes, and always keep our students at the center of it all. We are so grateful for your leadership and for the countless ways you pour into our school each and every day.
Mrs. Judkins, we love you, we appreciate you, and we are so incredibly proud of you! Thank you for all that you do and for being the heart of our school family. 💚
Congratulations!

REMINDER: Warren County Schools will be closed for students on Wednesday, August 19 for Convocation.

🧪🔬 Learning in Action at WECHS!
Scholars in Mrs. Eaton’s Chemistry Honors class put their measurement skills to the test during a hands-on lab! At each station, scholars used a different scientific instrument to read and record measurements.
After a brief lesson and some helpful notes from Mrs. Eaton, scholars returned to the stations to retake their measurements—applying what they had just learned and checking their accuracy. 🎯
Learn it. Apply it. Improve it. That’s what learning looks like at WECHS! 🧪
