Our freshman scholars completed another important step in our freshman transition process. Yesterday was VGCC's Freshman Family Orientation and it was a huge success! A special thank you to Ms. Taylor Williams and Dean Lyndon Hall for ensuring that our scholars, and their families, are well-equipped to start their journey as college students. For the second day of Freshman Academy, our freshman scholars attended four sessions that were aimed to help prepare them for their first year as early college scholars. Session 4: Getting Organized and WECHS 101 - scholars learned the importance of being organized and ways to become more organized. They also were given an opportunity to ask questions and share concerns about starting high school.

Session 3 - Early Success: Transcripts, GPAs, Work Ethic, and Growth Mindset - scholars explored transcripts and grade point averages. They also learned about the importance of having a good work ethic with a growth mindset.
