We're excited to kick off National Principals Month by welcoming two of our newest Champions for Children, Dr. Tobias Hocutt (Northside) and Dr. Lionel Kato (WCHS)! Both educators bring not only a wealth of experience but also a genuine passion for helping students succeed, as well as a collaborative approach to leadership.
Learn more about Dr. Hocutt and Dr. Kato in this week's issue of The Warren Record.
Warren County Schools Superintendent Dr. Carol Montague-Davis and Board of Education members Jennifer Sims and Victoria Lehman had the opportunity to attend a special event in Weldon yesterday featuring NC Superintendent of Public Instruction Mo Green.
The event was part of House Representative Rodney Pierce’s ongoing series, "Bringing the Capital to the Constituents," which connects state leaders directly with residents in District 27.
Superintendent Green shared his vision for public education in North Carolina and outlined key priorities for advancing student success across the state.
We’re grateful to be part of these important conversations that help shape the future of education in Warren County and beyond.

At this month's Board of Education meeting, Spark Lab Facilitator, Mrs. Harrison and her students were thrilled to share their transformative experience during a recent trip to UNC-Wilmington.
Under her guidance, the SparkNC scholars had the opportunity to connect with industry professionals and engage in hands-on activities that truly brought their learning to life.
SparkNC empowers students to build skills and explore careers in tech fields like cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, software development and computer systems engineering.
We look forward to seeing how this experience drives educational and career journeys.
You are invited to the Back to School Powwow that will take place today, Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Meadows Community Center (Doe Spun Building), 403 Gibbs Avenue, Hollister, NC 27844. Doors will open at 5pm. The back-to-school powwow is a time when our community comes together with students, parents, teachers, and tribal leaders to celebrate starting a new school year while learning more about our American Indian culture.
