Each summer, some of North Carolina’s most gifted and highly motivated students are selected to attend the North Carolina Governor’s School, a prestigious four-week residential program that brings together top scholars, artists, and thinkers from across the state.
This competitive honor provides students with the opportunity to explore advanced topics in their chosen discipline during the summer before their senior year.
Governor’s School attendees are recognized with a blue and gold honor cord, provided by the North Carolina Governor’s School Association, to wear at graduation.

Today, she graduated from North Carolina Central University with her second bachelor’s degree, this time in Psychology! 🎓 Her dedication, servant’s heart, and willingness to always support others do not go unnoticed. She truly has a heart of gold and is always there when we need her.

Next, we would like to celebrate Mrs. Cicelia Aguilar, who previously served the WECHS family as our Instructional Coach and Testing Administrator. Today, she graduated from North Carolina Central University with her Master’s degree in School Administration! 🎓♥️🩶
Mrs. Aguilar has always been a dedicated supporter of scholars and education, and her family is celebrating even more exciting milestones this month. Her daughter, and senior scholar, Adrianne Aguilar, will receive her Associate in Science degree next Friday from Vance-Granville Community College and will graduate from WECHS on May 22!

Not only are we celebrating our graduating scholars, but we also want to recognize those who have been part of the WECHS family and are celebrating major accomplishments today as well. First up is Ms. Pamela Jordan, who served as our Administrative Intern duringy the fall semester. Today, she graduated from North Carolina Central University with her Master’s degree in School Administration. Ms. Jordan brought positivity, professionalism, and a passion for leadership to WECHS, and we are so proud of all she has accomplished. Congratulations, Ms. Jordan — your future is bright! ♥️🩶🎓
A special thank you to Sweet Delights Cookies and Things for the delicious peach cobbler during Teacher Appreciation Week! 🍑💛 It was absolutely yummy and even delivered warm — the perfect sweet treat for our staff. We truly appreciate your kindness and support of our WECHS family!
Our day ended on a sweet note! 🍦💚 The Warren County Schools Board of Education treated our staff to a variety of frozen treats paired with heartfelt expressions of appreciation, laughter, and fellowship.
