Adrianne Aguilar, sophomore scholar, has been selected to attend the Hugh O'Brian Youth (HOBY) State Leadership Seminar at North Carolina State University. HOBY's leadership development programs ensure that students gain awareness of themselves and others, practice and apply newly learned skills, and leave feeling empowered to make a positive impact on the world around them. With authenticity, connection, and growth at the core of our programming, their student ambassadors learn what it means to be an aware and engaged community member.

Alexander Whitaker, sophomore scholar, has been selected to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Engineering at George Mason University. NYLF Engineering represents an opportunity for hands-on experience and valuable insight from industry professionals that will help Alex succeed in his future career. He will also receive college credit through George Mason University.

We are proud to announce the members of the Warren Early College High School Class of 2024 who will receive their Associate's degree from Vance-Granville Community College! This year, every member of the Class of 2024 will be receiving their Associate's degree!
VGCC’s May 2024 Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 6 PM. These scholars will be graduating with their high school diploma and Associate's degree!
This is an amazing accomplishment and we are so proud of them!
Next stop......WECHS Class of 2024 Commencement Exercises! Our ceremony will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 6 PM at Warren County Middle School. Tickets are not required for entry.


WECHS has a graduation requirement of 60 hours of service learning. This is an opportunity for scholars to give back to their community by volunteering their time. We recognize students who accumulate 100 or more service learning hours. These scholars have received a black honor cord to wear for graduation.


Phi Theta Kappa is a VGCC academic honor society. To qualify, scholars must currently be enrolled in a regionally accredited institution offering an associate degree program, have completed at least 12 hours of coursework leading to an associate degree, and have a grade point average of 3.5. These scholars have received an orange cord to wear at graduation for this honor.


The NC Academic Scholar is recognized by the state and is one of the most challenging honors to receive. Scholars who receive this honor have an unweighted high school cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and have completed all requirements for a high school diploma.
This honor is represented by a gold honor cord and a diploma seal of recognition that will be attached to their diploma.

Summa Cum Laude is Latin for “with the highest honor." The GPA requirement is 3.8 or higher. This honor is represented by a double gold cord.


Congratulations to our 2024 Magna Cum Laude scholars!
Magna Cum Laude is Latin for “with great honor." The GPA requirement is 3.5-3.79. This honor is represented by a purple cord.


Congratulations to our 2024 Cum Laude scholars!
Cum Laude is Latin for “with honor." The GPA requirement is 3.2-3.499. This honor is represented by a green cord.


Our 5-year graduates have successfully completed all the requirements for a high school diploma, as well as for an Associate’s degree. They have received a light blue cord to represent this honor. Scholars have also received their black VGCC tassel to wear at Vance-Granville’s Graduation.


Warren Early College is a 5-year program, with the option of graduating in four years. Some of our scholars will meet the 4-year graduate qualifications, having completed all graduation requirements for both high school and VGCC, earning their Associate's degree and high school diploma in 4 years. These students receive a white cord to represent this honor. Students will also receive their black VGCC tassel to wear at Vance-Granville’s Graduation.


The College/UNC Endorsement honor is recognized by the state of NC and is represented by a red cord and a diploma seal of recognition that will be attached to their diploma. Scholars who receive this honor have (1) completed the future-ready core mathematics sequence of Math I, II, III, and a fourth math course; (2) completed three units of science including at least one physical science with a lab, one life science, and one additional science course; (3) complete U.S. History or equivalent coursework; (4) complete two units of a world language (other than English): (5) have a weighted grade point average of at least 2.5 and (6) earn at least the benchmark reading score of a 22 on ACT or 480 on SAT.


The College Endorsement honor is recognized by the state of NC. These scholars have received a yellow cord and a diploma seal of recognition that will be attached to their diploma. Scholars receiving this honor have completed North Carolina’s future-ready core mathematics sequence of Math I, II, III; and a fourth math, have an unweighted grade point average of at least 2.6, and also earn at least the benchmark reading score of 22 on ACT or 480 on SAT.


The Beta Club is a national academic honor society. Its mission is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership among scholars. In order to join the Beta Club, you must have a weighted high school GPA of 3.5. Beta Club scholars have received a blue cord to wear at graduation.
