We are thrilled to report that our first Asian American Pacific Islander Month Celebration was a tremendous success! With six engaging stations that featured crafts, exhibits, presentations, karaoke, games, and delicious food, the event truly brought our school community together in celebration of culture and diversity. Our WECHS school family extends a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Aguilar for her exceptional planning and facilitation of today's cultural extravaganza. Our staff and scholars had a fantastic time and gained valuable insights into the rich tapestry of Asian American and Pacific Islander heritage. We would also like to express our gratitude to the Central Office staff that attended for their support in making this event possible, as well as to the teachers from other schools who generously shared their cultural knowledge with us. A special thank you goes out to Mr. Marc Aguilar, Mr. Benjamin Decena from WCMS and Mrs. Raquel Nogueras from MBES for their contributions in facilitating the stations - we are truly grateful for your dedication and enthusiasm. As Yo-Yo Ma aptly said, "When you learn something from people, or from a culture, you accept it as a gift, and it is your lifelong commitment to preserve it and build on it." Today, we embraced this sentiment wholeheartedly, fostering a spirit of unity and learning that will continue to inspire us. Thank you once again to everyone involved in making this celebration a resounding success. Your efforts and support are deeply appreciated.

Your opinion is important to Warren County Schools! Based on your feedback, the district revised the proposed school calendars for the 2024-25 school year. Superintendent Sutton also presented his $65 million recommended budget to our School Board on April 23. There will be a public hearing on the budget Tuesday, May 14 at 6 p.m. at Warren County Middle School. You can also submit your feedback online! Please tell us what you think about the updated school calendars and the Superintendent's recommended budget by Friday, May 3 at noon. We have more information on both topics on the district website and every school's website under the "News" section. www.warrenk12nc.org/
