Tomorrow, 16 of our outstanding scholars will participate in the Vance-Granville Community College Class of 2025 Graduation Ceremony, proudly earning their Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees—before even graduating from high school! 🎉📚
The ceremony will begin at 6:00 PM on Friday, May 16, on the grounds of VGCC’s Main Campus in Henderson.
We are incredibly proud of each of these scholars for their hard work, resilience, and commitment to academic excellence. They are true examples of what’s possible through determination and opportunity!

Salem Scholars Merit Scholarship
Please join us in congratulating Judith Reyes Gomez, recipient of the prestigious Salem Scholars Merit Scholarship from Salem College! 🎓💐
This highly competitive scholarship is awarded to a select group of incoming first-year students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, leadership potential in the field of health, and a weighted GPA of 4.0 or higher.
Judith will receive full tuition for four years, valued at $140,000, funded through a grant to Salem College. Along with this incredible financial award, she will also gain access to exclusive academic and leadership opportunities designed to support her growth and success. 🌿
While a representative from Salem College could not be with us last night, we were honored to recognize and present this extraordinary achievement on their behalf.

Rosemary Lewis Scholarship
We are honored to announce that Mr. Raleigh Pierce has been selected as the recipient of the Rosemary L. Lewis Scholarship.
This meaningful scholarship is awarded in memory of the late Rosemary Lewis, who served Warren County Schools as a Student Services Director and contracted School Psychologist. Rosemary was a fierce advocate for children, dedicating her life to their protection, support, and success. Her passion for student achievement and well-being left a lasting legacy in our community.
On behalf of the designated chair, Dr. Linda Mason, and the scholarship committee, we proudly extend our congratulations to Raleigh. His compassion, determination, and commitment to excellence reflect the spirit of this special award.


Golden LEAF Scholarship
We are proud to announce that Raleigh Pierce and Adrianna Wilson have been awarded the Golden LEAF Scholarship! 🎓💰
The Golden LEAF Foundation is committed to expanding economic opportunity in North Carolina’s rural communities by investing in students who plan to attend a NC college or university, earn a degree, and return to contribute to rural areas across our state.
This scholarship provides $3,500 per year for up to four years to high school seniors entering college as first-year students at participating four-year NC institutions.
Raleigh and Adrianna have both demonstrated a strong commitment to education and community, and we know they’ll continue to make a meaningful impact. 💛

This merit-based award recognizes high-achieving students and supports their journey through higher education. Raleigh has been awarded $26,100, renewable for four years, along with a renewable housing scholarship valued at $6,000—bringing his total award to an incredible $32,100! 🏅
