Northside Reopening of School Update: The Warren County School Board approved Plan C regarding the reopening of the Warren County Public Schools. The selection of Plan C means that online only instruction will take place for the first quarter of the school year.

Attention Warren County Schools parents. After carefully reviewing the data that you provided in a recent survey, we are making plans for the 2020-21 school year based on your feedback. Parents that are interested in their student(s) participating in an all online learning environment next year will need to complete an application to participate in our Virtual Academy. We are also asking parents that do not plan to allow their students to ride the school bus next year to complete an opt-out form so that we can plan on the number of students that will be riding buses.. In addition to the online forms, schools will be mailing out these forms in paper format today to all parents. There is a stamped envelope inside each packet that will allow you to mail it back to us. If you have questions, please contact your child's school or the Warren County School District Office. Northside Parent Reminder: Teachers have already made contact with parents reminding them to pick up their child's items left at school no later than July 23, 2020 by 3:00 p.m. No items will be kept after that date, due to health safety reasons. Pick up days are Monday through Thursday from 9:00 to 3:00 p.m. If you need a different time, please contact the school. In addition, the semester calendar has been adopted as the Warren County Schools calendar for all schools. Currently students start school again on August 17, 2020. Of course, this may be subject to change depending upon Governor Roy Cooper. You will receive more information on how student instruction will take place in Warren County Schools (virtual, non-virtual or both) in the upcoming weeks. Principal Dunbar

Congratulations to all of our Northside K-8 students' who participated in the drive through ceremonies today! Northside K-8 Parents: All promotion drive through ceremonies (Pre-K, K, 5th grade and 8th grade), due to the rain forecast for the entire week have now been rescheduled to June 22, 2020. The schedule is as follows: 8th grade (10:00 a.m.), K (11:30 a.m.), Pre-K (1:00 p.m.) and 5th grade (3:00 p.m.).

Northside K-8 Parents: Posting Correction: End of the year promotion celebrations for milestone transitions PreK, Kindergarten, Fifth grade and Eighth grade are currently being worked on. Sixth grade entered previously was incorrect. On behalf of the staff members at Northside K-8 School we would like to wish you a safe Memorial Day Holiday. Slots are filling up fast for the PreK and Kindergarten program here at Northside K-8 School. Please look out for more information on a virtual parent meeting that will be scheduled for the month of June. Parents will be able to participate in the meeting via phone or online. The meeting will provide you with the latest updates as the school year is coming to an end soon. Starting June 1, 2020 writing prompts will be mailed out as the last student assignment for the school year. Teachers will check in with your child weekly to see if any writing support is needed. Northside K-8 School Parent Reminder: Prek, Kindergarten and Dual Language Spanish Immersion Programs have started open enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year. Enrollment for all programs will end on May 12, 2020. Applications can be picked up and dropped off at the school during the hours of 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Special thank you to all our Northside families for picking up your child's second student learning packets. Ms. Aguilar at Northside K-8 conducted a Google Slides training yesterday. 42 staff members at Northside K-8 and Warren County Middle School participated. Teachers and staff are working hard to adjust to a new way of teaching our students.
